Battle Beastly Bowels: Managing IBS with Fibromyalgia Using Raw Cannabis and Hypnosis

Living with fibromyalgia can feel like a constant battle, and when my IBS flares up alongside it, that battle takes on an entirely different intensity. If you’ve been through a flare, you know the struggle: sharp cramps, unpredictable digestion, the constant discomfort that leaves you feeling drained and on edge. Over the years, I’ve experimented with various strategies, and I’ve discovered a few approaches that have truly helped me tame those “beastly bowels.” One of the game-changers has been consuming raw cannabis in smoothies, which has become a key part of my daily routine to help manage symptoms in between flares.

Discovering the Benefits of Raw Cannabis

Raw cannabis isn’t the typical form of cannabis most people think of—it’s not smoked or vaped, so it doesn’t have the psychoactive effects. Instead, it’s more like a superfood, loaded with beneficial compounds such as THCA and CBDA, which don’t have the “high” but do offer anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. For me, incorporating raw cannabis into my smoothies has been transformative.

Adding raw cannabis to a smoothie not only makes it easier to digest but also allows my body to absorb these essential compounds more effectively. And, since I often feel like I’m fighting an internal battle with my digestive system, having this gentle, anti-inflammatory support has made a difference in calming my stomach, reducing cramping, and even improving my overall mood.

The ritual itself has become part of my healing process. I feel like I’m taking control of my health, actively choosing to support my body in a way that works with it rather than against it. I’ve noticed that when I consume raw cannabis regularly, my IBS symptoms are less intense and more manageable, which gives me peace of mind even before a flare hits.

Surviving Flares with Hypnosis, NLP, and Immediate Relief

But then, there are those inevitable flares. The ones that come seemingly out of nowhere, taking control of my body and turning a good day into one filled with pain, discomfort, and endless trips to the bathroom. During these times, I reach into my toolkit of techniques to cope and survive the storm.

Hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) are my go-to tools for managing the “in-the-moment” urgency and anxiety that comes with IBS flare-ups. When I feel that familiar rumble or twist in my gut, I start by grounding myself. Using deep breathing and visualization techniques, I can sometimes “talk down” the flare, calming the worst of my gut’s rebellion. It’s as if I’m rewiring my brain to respond differently, slowly and steadily helping my body feel more at ease. With NLP techniques, I can shift my focus, allowing myself to manage pain and symptoms more effectively, and over time, this practice has reduced the intensity of my symptoms.

For immediate relief of cramps and digestive pain during a flare, I turn to inhalable cannabis. I’ve found that certain strains, like Granddaddy Purple, are incredibly effective for calming both my muscles and my mind. With just a few inhales, I feel a deep relaxation wash over me, almost as if my insides are being soothed from the inside out. Granddaddy Purple, in particular, has an almost magical ability to reduce the intensity of my cramps and quiet my nervous system, helping me regain some sense of control over my body.

Finding Hope and Healing: A Holistic Approach

Managing IBS as part of fibromyalgia has taught me that healing is rarely a one-size-fits-all solution. It’s about finding a blend of practices that work with my body and meet me where I am. Whether it’s raw cannabis smoothies to maintain balance, or turning to hypnosis, NLP, and inhalable cannabis for immediate relief, each approach supports a different part of my journey.
