In the beginning
I was a well versed internet specialist, computer programmer, and successful entrepreneur BEFORE I became chronically ill. Despite an onslaught of medical appointments, exploratory surgeries, and a series of tests - no one understood what was wrong with me including the slew of doctors and specialists I saw.
My Battle
They prescribed pharmaceuticals to treat the symptoms, and others to counter the side effects of the first lot, and then others because "new" issues cropped up as result - etc. All for unknown condition. Soon I had a dose-it that contained a total of 93 tablets. I was mostly bed ridden and my mobility limited to an electric wheelchair. In a pharmaceutical haze, feeling like a husk of human being. Mentally, physically, emotionally drained. The voices of sadness and anger raging in my heart and mind. No longer dreaming of tomorrows, or making plans for a brighter future - I was simply existing.
My Breakthrough
Existing was not acceptable! I would live life or I would die. The decision was that simple for me. I made radical changes and with blessings from the universe, I survived detox, I learned to recognize and manage pain naturally using herbs, Hypnosis and NLP TO WIN! I studied, and exercised, practiced, and performed (fake it till you make it) - I made me a new priority! If I was going to be alive - I intended on living a life in which I could thrive!
Battle Strategist
From Victim to Victor! I crafted a battle strategy to fight the pain, I changed my eating habits, developed new routines and learned new skills. I developed those skills and have lived pharmaceutically free for 12+ yrs to date! I have been free from the wheelchair and the confines of a bed! It was challenging and I continue to develop my skills. Fibromyalgia is a condition that affects millions of people worldwide, yet it remains widely misunderstood. As someone who has worked closely with individuals suffering from this chronic pain disorder, I’ve come to realize how much it impacts people’s lives—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. It can feel like an invisible battle, with symptoms that seem to fluctuate unpredictably, making it challenging to manage. But through my experience as a hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner, and herbal therapy advocate, I’ve seen firsthand how these approaches can offer real relief and help people regain control of their health and happiness.
Fibromyalgia is a condition characterized by widespread pain, fatigue, and other symptoms that often overlap with other health issues. The hallmark of fibromyalgia is chronic, widespread pain that can be described as a constant dull ache or burning sensation. This pain can feel like it’s coming from the muscles, ligaments, and tendons, affecting various parts of the body.
But the pain is just one piece of the puzzle. People with fibromyalgia often struggle with fatigue, trouble sleeping, memory problems (often called “fibro fog”), and mood disorders like anxiety and depression. The severity of these symptoms can vary from day to day, which can make it difficult for others to understand just how hard it is to live with.
The causes of fibromyalgia are still not entirely understood. It’s believed that it may be linked to an abnormal response to pain signals in the brain and nervous system. For some, fibromyalgia develops after a traumatic event, such as an injury, illness, or extreme emotional stress. In other cases, genetics may play a role, as the condition tends to run in families.
In my practice, I’ve found that hypnosis can be an incredibly effective tool for managing fibromyalgia. Hypnosis is a therapeutic state where you’re deeply relaxed, but still aware and in control. It allows you to bypass the conscious mind, which is often filled with worry, fear, and tension, and access the subconscious mind where habits, beliefs, and even the body’s pain responses are stored.
Through hypnosis, we can reprogram the subconscious mind to help reduce pain, anxiety, and stress. I’ve guided clients to visualize healing and relaxation, which helps them shift their focus away from the pain and increase their sense of control over their body. By engaging the subconscious mind in this way, it’s possible to decrease the intensity of pain and improve overall well-being.
Hypnosis also helps with sleep, which is often a major issue for people with fibromyalgia. I’ve had clients tell me that after just a few sessions, they’ve started sleeping better, which has been a game-changer for managing their pain and fatigue.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is another approach I use to help people with fibromyalgia. NLP is based on the idea that the language we use and the patterns in our thoughts and behavior can influence how we feel and how our bodies respond. When it comes to chronic pain, NLP can help shift the way the brain interprets those pain signals.
By using specific NLP techniques, I work with clients to change the way they respond to pain, replacing negative associations with more positive, healing ones. NLP also focuses on changing limiting beliefs—like those around health or self-worth—which can exacerbate the emotional stress that comes with chronic pain. It’s about breaking old habits and replacing them with more empowering strategies to cope with the symptoms of fibromyalgia.
Herbal therapy has long been a go-to treatment for various health conditions, and fibromyalgia is no exception. There are several herbs that can help reduce inflammation, relieve muscle tension, and ease pain. For instance, turmeric is well-known for its anti-inflammatory properties, while ginger is often used to soothe pain and stiffness. Passionflower, valerian root, and chamomile are great herbs for promoting relaxation and improving sleep quality.
In addition to these herbs, I also recommend dietary changes and lifestyle adjustments that help support the body’s natural healing processes. A balanced, nutrient-rich diet, along with regular physical activity and stress management techniques, can complement herbal therapies and amplify their effectiveness.
One of the things I often tell my clients is that healing is not just about external treatments—it’s also about how you care for yourself from the inside out. When we take ownership of our health and well-being, we’re empowered to make decisions that align with our needs, whether it’s using hypnosis, exploring herbal remedies, or incorporating NLP into our daily routine.
