In the beginning
I was a well versed internet specialist, computer programmer, and successful entrepreneur BEFORE I became chronically ill. Despite an onslaught of medical appointments, exploratory surgeries, and a series of tests - no one understood what was wrong with me including the slew of doctors and specialists I saw.
My Battle
They prescribed pharmaceuticals to treat the symptoms, and others to counter the side effects of the first lot, and then others because "new" issues cropped up as result - etc. All for unknown condition. Soon I had a dose-it that contained a total of 93 tablets. I was mostly bed ridden and my mobility limited to an electric wheelchair. In a pharmaceutical haze, feeling like a husk of human being. Mentally, physically, emotionally drained. The voices of sadness and anger raging in my heart and mind. No longer dreaming of tomorrows, or making plans for a brighter future - I was simply existing.
My Breakthrough
Existing was not acceptable! I would live life or I would die. The decision was that simple for me. I made radical changes and with blessings from the universe, I survived detox, I learned to recognize and manage pain naturally using herbs, Hypnosis and NLP TO WIN! I studied, and exercised, practiced, and performed (fake it till you make it) - I made me a new priority! If I was going to be alive - I intended on living a life in which I could thrive!
Battle Strategist

I developed those skills and have lived pharmaceutically free for 12+ yrs to date! I have been free from the wheelchair and the confines of a bed! Let’s be honest—this weather has been brutal. The constant cold, the flip-flop temperatures, the stubborn refusal of spring to actually feel like spring—it’s wreaking havoc on our fibromyalgia symptoms. If you’re like me, you’ve been feeling it in your bones, your muscles, your sleep, and your spirit.
One of the tools I turn to when flare-ups try to steal my joy is cannabis—specifically Granddaddy Purple. This beautiful strain brings deep, full-body relaxation without fogging my mind. It doesn’t cure fibro (I wish!), but it helps manage the storm, especially when combined with other strategies like hypnosis and NLP.

🌀 The Mind-Body Connection: Hypnosis & NLP for Fibromyalgia Relief
When people think about fibromyalgia, they often focus only on the physical: the aching joints, burning nerves, crushing fatigue. But fibro is also deeply connected to the nervous system and brain patterns—which is why tools like hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) are so powerful for managing flare-ups and reducing the emotional toll of chronic pain.
Hypnosis isn’t magic, but it feels like it when you realize how deeply you can influence your own experience of pain and fatigue. Here's what I mean:
Hypnosis helps retrain your nervous system. By guiding yourself into a state of deep relaxation, you give your parasympathetic system a chance to activate—restoring calm, easing muscle tension, and lowering inflammation.
It separates awareness from sensation. In hypnosis, I’ve learned to notice a pain sensation without immediately reacting to it. I can shift my focus to another part of my body or imagine the pain transforming—melting, cooling, softening. This reduces distress and interrupts the spiral of pain > stress > more pain.
Daily mini-sessions build resilience. You don’t have to be in a trance for hours. Even 5-10 minutes of focused breath, visual imagery, and gentle suggestion can rewire the way you relate to your body.
💡 TRY THIS:
Next time you feel a flare brewing, find a quiet spot. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and visualize your pain as a color or shape. Now, imagine soft golden light washing over it—cooling, calming, shrinking it. With each breath, let it get smaller and less important. This isn't distraction—this is control.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming works with the language of your thoughts. For fibro fighters, this means using specific words, images, and inner strategies to create a powerful mental shift.
Here’s how I use NLP daily:
Anchoring is a technique where you link a physical gesture (like touching your chest or pressing your fingers together) to a powerful, resourceful state of mind. I’ve created anchors for calm, confidence, and resilience—and I use them when I feel fibro creeping in.
💡 TRY THIS:
Think of a time you felt strong and capable. Really step into that memory—feel it in your body. Now, press your thumb and middle finger together as you breathe in that energy. Do this several times to lock it in. Later, use that anchor to call up strength when fatigue or pain hits.
The words you say to yourself matter. Compare:
“This pain is ruining my day.”
vs.
“My body is speaking. I’m listening, but I’m also in control.”
We can’t always change the pain—but we can change how we frame it.
💡 TRY THIS:
Start your day with a powerful mantra like:
🗣️ “I get better and better every day, in every way.”
🗣️ “Today is a great day to have a great day.”
🗣️ “I’m happy and resilient—I am a warrior.”
Repeat these phrases out loud. Let them become your mental armor.
The truth is, our brains are constantly learning, adapting, rewiring. With hypnosis and NLP, we teach our minds to support healing, reduce suffering, and stay on our own side.
Cannabis, like my go-to Granddaddy Purple, helps soften the edge. But the real transformation happens when you pair it with conscious mental tools—when you take back control of your inner landscape.
